Save the date to attend a Sustainable Travel Event on Tuesday, November 7 from 11 am to 3 pm at the Rec Sports Facility. This event is in coordination with a TSA PreCheck event, which will be held from Monday, November 6 through Thursday, November 9.
Sustainable Travel Event on Tuesday, November 7
The UC Berkeley Travel Team is partnering with the Campus Sustainability Office to offer a sustainable travel event. This event will focus on sustainable options for business travel, including how to reduce our travel-related carbon footprint. Attendees will learn more about what sustainable travel is and how to make more informed decisions when booking for both business and personal travel.
At the event, there will be raffle prizes, food, drinks, and vendors focused on sustainability and travel, including representatives from both Southwest and United Airlines. We will post updates to theSustainable Travel Guide(link is external) page on the Travel website.

TSA PreCheck event November 6 - 9; appointments will be available starting next week
In partnership with the Sustainable Travel Event, there is a TSA PreCheck event from November 6 to November 9, 2023, at the Recreational Sports Facility (2301 Bancroft Way), room 42. At this event, there will be interview appointments to complete the TSA PreCheck enrollment process on campus. TSA PreCheck saves you time and hassles with access to expedited security screening lanes at participating airports(link is external), and you don't need to remove liquids, shoes, laptops, belts, and light jackets.
This is an opportunity for UC Berkeley faculty, staff, students, and their families who are eligible to schedule an interview with TSA on campus. Beginning next week, visit the TSA PreCheck event page(link is external) on the travel website to read detailed instructions on how to apply. If you are interested please do not delay, as we expect the appointments to fill up fast.
There is a $78 non-refundable fee for five years of enrollment. This is a personal expense not reimbursable by the university. Payment can be made by credit card or electronic check. Eligible credit card holders(link is external) may receive credit for the application fee from their credit card provider. Get $5 a day parking discount at Oakland Airport
Did you know that if you book your parking online(link is external) at the Oakland Airport in the daily lot, at least two hours prior to arrival, you can save $5 a day? Stays of longer than five days receive an additional $1 a day for the entire period.
